Welcome to the pakistani perspective. This site
covers the international internet media on stories and commentaries
relevant to a Pakistani audience. It collects views from a wide
variety of sources and presents them without bias and
prejudice with or without my opinion (heck, this is my blog!).
The following are some websites through which you can channel funds to Pakistan's earthquake relief efforts using your credit card:
- Hidaya Foundation: Hidaya Foundation is a US based organization that aims to implement educational, social welfare, and charitable projects in economically depressed areas of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, West Africa and North America. Donation Link
- Islamic Relief: Islamic Relief USA is headquartered in Burbank, CA in Southern California and has been incorporated in the State of California since 1993 as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Islamic Relief is a member of the Islamic Relief Worldwide family. Donation Link
- Islamic Aid: Islamic Aid is a UK based charity that seeks to make immediate and lasting improvements to the lives of people affected by poverty, war and disaster. On their donation website, select 'Pakistan Relief Fund' from the drop-down menu. Donation Link
- Islamic Society of North America: ISNA is an association of Muslim organizations and individuals that provides a common platform for presenting Islam in North America. Donation Link
- United Bank's Click N Remit: You can use this service from United Bank to send funds directly to the President's Relief Fund. You might have register on the website before you will be able to make a credit card contribution. Donation Link
- Oxfam: Oxfam GB is a development, relief, and campaigning organisation that works with others to find lasting solutions to poverty and suffering around the world. Donation Link
- Pakistanis at Stanford (PAS): PAS is a student group comprising Pakistani students at Stanford University. They have setup a front to accept online donations through the collaboration of eGroups @ Stanford. Their donations are being channeled to the following organizations: President's Relief Fund, Edhi Foundation, Red Cross/Red Cresent, UNICEF. Donation Link
If you come across other credible websites accepting online donations by credit card, please email the details to me at editor@pakp.com. I will promptly add them to the above list. Thanks.
Another thing, if you see a Google ad above for any relief agency collecting money for the earthquake (I see an Islamic-Aid ad right now), please do not click it. Instead, read off the URL and type it in your browser window. Everytime you click one of those ads, Google charges them money, which offsets some of the money they are raising.
